Youth Action for Europe

Youth Action for Europe is a youth exchange that aims to foster young people’s engagement in the civic life of their communities and to develop the necessary skills, knowledge, values and motivation to change their lives and make a positive change in their communities. Recent surveys of the European Commission on youth civic participation indicate that young people are less interested in political life and the involvement in the decision-making processes. Growing concerns about young people’s lack of interest and motivation for civil actions lead to their social disconnection and inclusion from society. The project will implement activities to promote civic education and participation through non-formal and informal learning (NFIL) methods and by promoting democracy and civil and human rights.

The specific objectives are:

  • To promote European citizenship among young people;

  • To develop key competences and skills for the active engagement of young people in the social and democratic life of their communities;

  • To raise awareness among youth on actions to promote democracy and human rights and enhance their civic participation;

  • To promote democratic values and build competences in youth to actively contribute to society and thus to make informed choices for their future.

The project targets young people (18-30 years old) who are motivated to bring positive changes in their communities, to acquire new knowledge and understanding of the political and civic rights and responsibilities that they have and to develop civic skills to analyze, evaluate and defend their civil positions.
