FLOWGEN was born from a shared commitment among partners to bridge the gap in education for the blue economy and equip youth and youth workers with entrepreneurial and advocacy skills in blue entrepreneurship and water justice. The project is youth-led and participatory, meaning research is conducted by youth, for youth. This ensures that initiatives are community-driven, relevant, and impactful, fostering long-term environmental responsibility and engagement beyond the project’s lifespan. FLOWGEN supports youth in launching real-world projects that address local water challenges, ensuring that participants apply their learning in practical settings to create tangible environmental and economic impact.
FLOWGEN engages youth and youth workers to identify barriers in the blue economy and co-design a massive open online course to fill educational gaps. It enhances partner, youth and educator capacity in blue entrepreneurship and advocacy, improving quality and innovation of youth work across the EU. Youth implement community interventions tackling local water challenges, and a mobility in Hungary fosters youth-led advocacy campaigns, promoting the European Green Deal’s benefits for water-dependent regions.
