V.E.G.A. - Visualising European Goals through Arts project aims at overcoming lack of information among European youth, and uses modern visual arts to reach its objective. Non formal education, especially by using artistic tools, has been largely proven as one of the most effective ways to communicate and create competences, especially among youth. For this reason, V.E.G.A. project aims at using comics, graffiti, graphic art, video art, and photography to raise awareness on the importance of being conscious of the European Youth Goals and their effects on the target group's daily life. This project will allow young people from Portugal, Italy, Spain, Hungary, and Germany to experience a fruitful exchange of ideas and practices on the E.Y.G. through art. It will provide participants with opportunities to cross national borders to discuss and learn more about the European Youth Goals and their application, thanks to the involvement of specialists in EU initiatives and youth policies that will share their experience with young participants and youth workers.
Moreover, professionals and experts will be involved in the artistic process, training participants on the use of the five visual arts and teaching them how to best convey information through this media. Lastly, in order to let youngsters create artistic pieces in the best possible way, optimal instruments and tools will be needed, in order to guarantee full accessibility to everyone interested in the project, regardless of their economic possibilities.
