Minority groups is to be found anywhere in the world, including Europe. Whether it is LGBTQ+ or an ethnical minority group or any other type of minority, they all face struggles of inclusion in the local communities, and they deserve a voice and a chance to be involved. We want to bring more awareness of minority groups and the issues they are facing, and though this exchange aiming to include minorities and the differences of cultures in the local societies and provide better and healthier understanding of versatile lifestyles.
The Youth Exchange “Diversity Makes Rich” aims to build tolerance and confidence in youngsters of a multicultural society and to integrate the cultures of the minorities as a contribution to the youth development.
We envision educating and helping young people to create an inclusive environment for young people of minority groups into their local communities, inside the scope of the European values.
More specifically, by the end of the project the participant should be able to:
Be more culturally competent and understand the components of diversity in the European youth;
Have a better understanding of what it means to be a minority with the help of real-life personal stories and role-playing activities.
Build up empathy and trust with young people of minorities in their respective local community.
Foster the creativity, confidence, and autonomy of minority populations, through interactive activities and workshops.
Be more aware of the minorities within the countries of the European Union.
Develop and implement initiatives, events that will be able to promote integration of minorities in the European countries.
Develop their intercultural skills.
Date: 16-25 October 2021
Participating countries: Denmark, Greece, Croatia, Spain, Czechia and Hungary.
We delegate 6 participants and a group leader to the project.
