PROJECT SUMMARY
Almost all countries in the world have agreed to implement the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). This agreement is the first document to cover all international human rights concerning children and is based on four fundamental principles:
1. Non-discrimination: The 42 articles of the CRC protect the rights of all children, regardless of religion, race, ability, or gender.
Best Interests of the Child: Any decision affecting children must always prioritize their best interests.
Right to Life and Development: Every child has the natural right to life, and decision-makers must provide opportunities for children to develop and realize their potential.
Participation: Children should be consulted in decisions that affect them, as they are the best experts on their own lives.
In Turkey, the protection of children is guaranteed by the Constitution, prohibiting the employment of children under 15. However, child labor continues to exist, obstructing children's education. This project aims to remind children of their rights, amplify the voices of those whose rights are violated, and raise public awareness. With the involvement of even a single conscious individual, the chain will be broken, leading to complaints and resonating further in society. The project will also aim to inform the public and bring attention to abused children's rights.
The objectives of our project are:
To share information on children's rights through workshops, visits, and seminars for participants. To develop an analytical perspective against serious rights violations such as child labor and early school leaving.
To convey messages about children's rights and child labor that will indirectly impact participants and local communities.
To strengthen awareness by creating a multiplier effect.
To inspire relevant institutions for sustainable implementation of children's rights and actions against child labor.
To improve English language skills.
To enhance cooperation among participants by getting to know the Erasmus+ key actions and the Youthpass tool in detail.
To promote culture and develop intercultural dialogue.
