My Experience in a Montessori Kindergarten in the Czech Republic
I had the opportunity to spend a few months in the Czech Republic as part of an exchange program, where I got to explore how a Montessori kindergarten works. This experience was truly unique and unforgettable for me.
In the kindergarten, children are given freedom and space to learn and develop their skills based on their own interests. My role was to support them in their daily activities, observe their progress, and learn how to guide them in a way that helps them grow independently. It was both inspiring and challenging, and it gave me a whole new perspective on working with children.
The program took place in Kadaň, a small but very charming and historical town in the Czech Republic. The town has a special atmosphere with old buildings, narrow streets, and a cozy vibe that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Summer in Kadaň is especially beautiful. On weekends, locals gather in the park where live concerts take place. People listen to music, enjoy traditional food and drinks, and spend time together. This creates a warm and lively feeling that makes you feel like part of the community.
This exchange program is perfect for anyone who loves working with children, is interested in the Montessori method, and wants to see how a kindergarten works from a different perspective. Besides gaining professional experience, you get the chance to explore a new culture, meet amazing people, and create unforgettable memories.
For me, this was a step that opened new doors and gave me even more motivation to continue working with children in the future. If you are passionate about working with kids and ready for new challenges, I highly recommend taking part in such a program — it’s an experience that will stay with you forever.
