Introduction

"Volunteering and active citizenship have been important principles for me from a young age. Already in high school I was a part of many different initiatives focused on changing old practices for new, better functioning ones, mainly in the field of environmental protection. After my final exams I continued on this road and decided to take part in a long-term European Solidarity Corps volunteering, which was a life changing experience for me. I started with very little knowledge about European youth mobility, but I could see the positive change induced by it around me and on myself.

Already during my first project in Potsdam I was involved in the organisation and execution of ESC projects. Afterwards I got the opportunity to continue this journey with Youth Bridges Budapest, where I am responsible for the ESC sending activities already for two years. Ever since I got involved in these projects, I seek to understand as many different areas of ESC as possible, I take part in trainings and internships to learn not only about sending, but also about the on-arrival and mid-term seminars, mentoring or volunteering team projects. I try my best to give this knowledge further to our volunteers, to create a safe environment where they can share both their best experiences and their worries or problems, and to value their feedback, because I can learn the most from them, after all!"
