From the June 11 th to 14 th June, we have carried out the last mobility of the NEWDIGISHIP project in Budapest. YBB has been organising and hosted the activities during the youth mobility in Budapest, focusing on tools for digital entrepreneurship, digital and social media marketing. In addition, the team has also visited notable Hungarian startups and incubators, where participants had the chance to blend non-formal workshops with practical field visits and to experience the dynamics of the vibrant city of Budapest.
During the first day, we carried out teambuilding activities with the youngsters and introductory session about digital entrepreneurship, while also providing useful information about the project.
On the second day, participants were introduced to case studies about niche entrepreneurship, where they researched and analysed companies like Airbnb and Uber, while presenting their key value proposition through the Business Model Canvas. Afterwards we have learnt about the good use of tools for digital entrepreneurs such as Miro, Canva, ChatGPT, Coggle and Padlet. In the afternoon, we have visited Lunar Program (an incubator) and Redmenta (an edtech startup based on generative AI) in the heart of Budapest. Participants had engaging conversations with the founder of Redmenta (Zoli) and received first-hand answers to questions about digital startups.
Then, in the evening, we organized a social picnic and intercultural night in the beautiful City Park (Városliget), with an astonishing view from the top of the Ethnography Museum.
On Thursday, the topics shifted more towards social media marketing and the role of good customer relations and communication in digital startups. Participants researched creatively about the most popular social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube), and also created engaging content to the different platforms to promote digital entrepreneurship. In the afternoon, we had the chance to meet the Marketing Communications and PR Manager of Munch, one of the most successful Hungarian digital startup focusing on food saving.
Finally, on Friday, participants had the chance to develop their own business ideas and present a short pitch to their peers. Then, we have summarized the learnings of the week and evaluated in an interactive format, using Dixit cards, flipcharts besides the official form.
