Youth mobility:

Digital Entrepreneurial Activities

Youngsters gathered in Berlin between the 12th and 18th of November for an Erasmus+ youth mobility under the name of "A New Entrepreneurship Approach in the Digital Age". During the week, the group from Youth Bridges Budapest learnt together with participants from Turkey, Spain, and Lithuania.

The project aimed to foster the exploration of digital entrepreneurship and equip young people with the tools to navigate the evolving landscape of the digital economy.

On the first day participants gathered at the Schulz Hotel which is located right next to the remains of the Berlin Wall. The project coordinator welcomed everyone and explained the agenda with an introduction to the project's objectives and emphasized how participant’s active involvement is expected through presentations. After all that, engaging ice-breaking games were played to give a head start to the informal activities of the project.

During the exchange, participants delved into the realm of Digital Financing methods and visited various sites connected to entrepreneurship and modern trends such as the Futurium, the House of Future, offering a glimpse into cutting-edge technologies and innovations, or the entrepreneurial facility at the Senate Department for Economics, where they gained practical insights into Berlin's economic landscape and startup culture. The group also engaged in collaborative work, developing their own creative business concepts.

The final day marked the completion of the NEWDIGISHIP journey. Back at Schulz Hotel, participants showcased their innovative spirit in the Digital Entrepreneurship Idea Competition. The day included a farewell ceremony and an International Evening with cultural exchange.

The Erasmus+ youth mobility in Berlin, under the NEWDIGISHIP project, proved to be a transformative experience. As participants returned to their respective countries, they carried with themselves not only a deeper understanding of digital entrepreneurship but also a network of international connections and a shared vision for a digitally empowered future.

Participant testimony

"Thanks to the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Program I got the chance to participate in the NEWDIGISHIP week-long youth mobility in Berlin, Germany. This exchange focused on digital entrepreneurship, and this journey was an unforgettable rollercoaster of learning, innovation, and exploration.

I was lucky to be the part of the Hungarian team, our sending organisation Youth Bridges Budapest helped us immensely throughout the entire program. The youth exchange program, hosted by the EPEKA Berlin, offered a deep dive into the world of digital entrepreneurship. The days that followed were the perfect mix of educational sessions, brainstorming, innovative ideas and exploration.

Our first field trip was to Futurium, an exhibition hall that felt like a portal to the future. Surrounded by innovations and displays from all around the world, we absorbed the latest trends in technology, digital art, and sustainable practices, and got inspired for our own projects. We also visited the Senate Department for Economy, Energy, and Businesses where we had the chance to listen to an engaging presentation which showed us the complexities of the business world, shedding light on the challenges and opportunities that awaited us as young entrepreneurs.

Amidst the structured learning, our group indulged in brainstorming sessions, when we shared our visions as like-minded individuals from diverse backgrounds, creating a supportive diverse community.

In our free time, we had the chance to explore Berlin's attractions. One place that was the highlight for me was the Reichstag, the iconic seat of the German Parliament. Ascending to the top, we enjoyed the beauty of the cityscape of Berlin through the glass dome while listening to the audio guide narrating the history of this remarkable city.

The week was not just about learning and networking; it was truly an adventure of a lifetime. We formed a strong bond with fellow participants as we immersed ourselves in Berlin's vibrant culture, savoured its diverse cuisine, and explored its historical sites. I left with a new set of skills and knowledge, a pocketful of innovative ideas, and a heart full of memories."
