This youth exchange focused on identity and intersectionality, helping us understand how factors like culture, gender, background, and experiences shape who we are. Through fun activities, group discussions, and creative methods, participants had the chance to reflect on themselves, share with others, and build awareness and empathy.

"The main topic of the project was intersectionality, which is a framework that helps us better understand how different characteristics—such as race, gender, social class, sexual orientation, and disability—influence an individual, and how these factors create unique and complex experiences of discrimination or even privilege.
During the one-week project, I had the chance to gain a deeper understanding of the effects of the factors that shape an individual, as well as how different nations approach this topic. I learned a lot, for example, about how different the opportunities are for people coming from wealthy versus poorer social backgrounds, and about how much more accepting some countries are toward members of the LGBTQ community.
This week was also a great opportunity to improve my English communication and teamwork skills, as we worked a lot in groups. My favorite part was when we had to present a topic of our choice in the form of a workshop, a presentation, a podcast, or a video. I was part of the video team, and I enjoyed every minute of the task.
In addition to the programs, there were opportunities, to get to know the other participating countries better during two intercultural nights, where we could taste various local sweets and snacks, and then ended the nights with a shared karaoke party."

"Being there was an amazing experience for me. I met lot of incredible and unique people. It was interesting to discover how many things can affect our identity. I knew a lot of things but I wasn’t aware that much. The activities were fun and instructive. Made me think about myself a lot, how I see the world and other people. It faced many things and I was curious of all the time about the topics.
Also Brittebo is a beautiful place, quiet and calm and for me it was kind of a dream.
One of the best experiences was the sauna and diving into the frozen lake after the sauna. Simply wonderful. I was happy when I saw that people overcame their fears and we could support each other.
I’m so grateful for this experience."

"Despite extensive education, I was surprised how much I learned about intersectionality during this project. It certainly broadened my horizons, and made me more open to new perspectives. The location was perfect for reflection, as it was situated in the beautiful Swedish wilderness. In addition to this, the peer-learning was just as important as the structured sessions, as every participant brought unique backgrounds to the table, often with complex and intriguing identities. Overall, it was an eye-opening experience that I would recommend for anyone."
