The Invisible Face of Migration Refugee Women

Both Woman and Refugee..

The two words that are fundamental points of our project are refugee and woman. Therefore, have we ever thought that the disadvantage of one person who is both a woman and refugee in a society? What is the position of a woman who is escaping from a battle and obliged to taking shelter in a foreign society? When it is obvious that people have negative points of view to the refugees and being a woman reveals a double standard in a society. How women who are seen as the weakest link, unattended, mother or wife are treated? Are legal arrangements which consist of the protection of refugee women existing or enough? Thanks to this project, when we are explaining the content of our project all the details will be scrutinized and the conditions of the refugee women will be handled.

In this context our project aims;

- To make the concept of refugee visible and scrutinize the roots of this concept,

- To tackle the negative effects of gender roles on societies within the scope of conditions of the refugee women,

- To address the problems of refugee women,

- To change the way people think about refugee women,

- To support the research of different ways of protecting refugee women other than 'marriage',

- To raise awareness of necessary rights of refugee women,

- To make the distinction between women and men aware,

- To ensure that gender-related problems are considered,

- To raise conscious of global issue like the concept of refugee women for young people,

- To direct young people to the volunteer activities,

- To develop creative thinking and reasoning skills of young people,

- To support to fight against discrimination and prejudices which makes enemy of each other,

- To increase the familiarity of Erasmus+ Program which provides for dialogue between different cultures prioritize personal development of young people,

- To inform young people of the concept of gender equality and therefore to raise awareness of young people.
