Space for youth!: Make your changemakers is an Erasmus+ training course focused on youth engagement and mobilization for civic participation in the local community. The training is meant to share our experience and successful tools to other european youth workers, making them able to emmulate the youth involvement projects we developed in our town in their own communities. During 7 days, youth workers from countries all around europe will join in the town of Chaves, in the northern hill region of Portugal, a rural and isolated area of the country well known for its pristine and natural environment.
With a participatory, learn by doing approach, the training will explore ways to mobilize young people into action, engage them in the discussion of local issues and support their development ideas to address those issues and being the changemakers for their communities. With the leadership of our local team of trainers, participants will share methods, knowledge, experiences and the reality of their countries and communities.
They will learn what we do in our town, build tools for civic engagement, Community development and youth support, meet the different groups of youth actively working in our programs, practice the new approaches in the local target groups and start developing project ideas to create similar programs in their towns. They will explore idea development methods and start working on project applications that can be later used in their own local work.
