Well, my 8 months period on a mountain just finished, but there is more to explain about the experience.
I was working as a warehouse worker in a company before the project, but I haven't really noticed that my last 2 years were mainly a burn out period. In the end I left that job to discover new aspects of life.
I was searching for opportunities as a volunteer in different options. What I knew is to be more close to nature than before. In the ESC portal I have found - Vegetarium / Trinoga - where I spent the last period of my life. In the first month there was an on-arrival training in a hotel in Sofia. Many great memories from there.
In Trinoga we had many things to do and a new way of life to be discovered as a permaculture living style. We were dependent on nature circumstances (seasons, weather, actual problems etc.), so cool to experience this because leaving behind all the "comfort" and to be challenged is where "growth" happens.
I learned a lot about keeping the place running with, other volunteers. We all had to take care of chickens, horses, sustaining the place taking care of the plants and learning a lot about healthy nutrition. In the morning we were eating smoothies, fruits, porridge. For lunch protein comes into the picture and for the dinner again back to lighter food. If someone is interested about how to feed better the body, that place is really supportive. It was really a direct picture, how much trash we humans are making, but there we were mainly collecting them into big plastic bottles, which will be reused as building materials.
My hosts paid for me a visit to the Rila mountain. Me and one of the other volunteer members lived there for 1 week.
With all the challenges, fun parts, that place is a great possibility for everyone to grow as a person and for those who are interested in permaculture, sustainability projects and living in nature.
Trinoga association was established in 2005 and is situated in Zhelen village. It is not only an NGO, but also an eco-community of people that permanently live in the nature and implement in real life the beliefs that inspire and lead them. The tree pillars of their philosophy are: life in harmony with nature, social unity and personal growth. The place and project, around which Trinoga Association evolves is called “Vegetarium Community Home”.
